Misty is tightly linebred on our Nubian foundation doe, Leaning Oak HIH Cathy Charisma, our first (and only!) Nubian doe we have ever purchased. We were just starting out in 1990 when we bought her, and Charissy was only shown in unsanctioned events and never was able to prove what an exceptional doe she was herself-- she's left that task up to the generations of her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids, like Misty. Misty was bred to our senior herdsire, GCH +*B Lakeshore-Farms Star Status EX90 and had triplet does! Two remain in the herd: Misty Morning and Misty Moonlight.... watch for them in the showring! Misty is a powerhouse of a doe, yet still being so feminine and dairy. She has already earned one official milking leg as a first freshening 2 yr old to add to her dry leg from last year. Maybe we can finish her yet this year.....?? |

| Check out the pedigree on this girl! Lots of GCH's and stars in this pedigree! Nevaeh, (heaven spelled backwards) is a first generation American Nubian, but she's still reluctant to let go of that single purebred alpine buck SGCH +*B Nodaway Sorcerer's Legend EX90 back 4 generations ago as witnessed by the nubian spots thrown in on her alpine "cou blanc" color pattern . Her potential sons are eligible to be American Nubians, and of course her daughters as well. Nevaeh is a typical *B Hoanbu Tamoon Broad Stripes' daughter: a powerful doe showing a lot of correctness in GA with well-shaped and placed feet, strong straight back and smooth sharp front end. Nevaeh freshened with a very capacious mammary system with a long smooth fore, nice shape/size teats and high rear udder. Her first official DHI test had her milking 9.7# milk with a 4.2% butterfat and 3.2% protein at 22d in milk. She's already earned her star on a one-day milk test. | Gypsy and Tippy are full sisters to Misty above. Gypsy and Tippy are very attractive does, being quite tall, long and level over the top, sharp at the withers and smooth in the front end. Gypsy seems to be the more dairy doe, while Tippy has more body capacity. Gypsy has not been shown much and Tippy not at all (hence no yearling photo) due to coming home from lease late in July 2006 and being left at home while their sister Misty was stealing the show. Both are bred to our senior herdsire, GCH +*B Lakeshore-Farms Star Status EX90 which should add some more angle to the rear legs of the kids. We look forward to their March kids. Update: Gypsy's first test at 27d in milk showed 9.5# milk, 4.2% butterfat and 3.5% protein. Tippy has been placed in a new home, though we still have a nice purebred Status daughter of hers for sale named Trivia. Gypsy has 2 daughters: Vegas will remain in the herd as part of our show string (she's already been 1x Grand, 1x Reserve and 1x Best in show!!) and Venus now resides in TN with Brenda Bell of Integrity Nubians. | Jewel is another doe who was on lease and just returned home late July 06. Jewel is developing into such a pretty doe, being quite angular and dairy, long, smooth and has a really correct set of feet/legs. Jewel's full sister is the impressive CH (pend) Hoanbu Status Diamond Pearl, one of my show ring stars, who won her big 2 year old class, Reserve Grand Champion and Best Udder of Breed at the North American International Livestock Expo in November 2006 and handily finished her championship at the 2nd show of the season. Jewel is line bred to her paternal brother *B Hoanbu Status Gawain, our 2006 Buckeye Sale highest seller, for early April kids to double up on GCH +*B Lakeshore-Farms Star Status EX90. Jewel now resides in the herd of Daniel Young in Georgia and her Gawain daughter Juliet resides with Brenda Bell in TN. THANKS, Daniel and Brenda! |
